Hot Damn - Spectrum and Phoenix bars, Oxford Street
It's Friday morning. You slept through your alarm. You just woke up next to someone you really shouldn't have. Your boss doesn't believe you are really sick when you try to avoid work for the fifth week in a row. The bathroom is covered in drinks from the previous night. Your shoes are filthy. Your wallet is empty. You lost your phone. There are stains all over your clothes. Your eyes are red. The same stamp is all the way up your arm. The stench of alcohol sweat makes your stomach churn. You don't remember how you got home. There is a half-eaten Hungry Jack's burger on the table. Cigarette butts on the floor. Your life is a mess. We love you Hot Damn!
Dont let its appearance fool you, Hot Damn is easily one of the most popular rock/indy clubs in the Sydney CBD. Peaking on a Thursday night, people from all around join together in the anthems that define the rock culture of the 21st century
Head down to Hot Damn at Spectrum or Phoenix bars on a thursday night and make it a messy one!
Cheap drinks, and dj's playing your favourite Punk, HC, Indy and Party tunes to all hours of the morning!

Katoomba- Blue Mountains.
Katoomba, which is situated in the Blue Mountains (only 1.5 hours away from Sydney) is a great attraction site that is a MUST on any tourists to do list. It has a number of activities and sight seeings that can consume a whole day such as:
- The Scenic railway- steepest railway incline in the world which takes you into a hidden valley and is now one of the most popular man-made tourist attractions in Australia. The 415 metre descent will lead you through a cliff-side tunnel into ancient rainforest. From there you are free to explore the Scenic Walkway which will guide you through the forest to the Scenic Cableway platform.
- Scenic Cableway- Also called the "sceneiscender" is the steepest aerial cable car in Australia takes you on a 545 metre ride into the World Heritage Listed rainforest of the Jamison Valley.
- Scenic walkway - allows you to experience walking on air in the Skyway -the world’s first cablecar with an Electro-sceni glass floor. As you ride across the valley, part of the floor becomes transparent under your feet, allowing you to see the valley nearly 300 metres below from an extraordinary perspective! The 720 metre journey takes you above ancient ravines and dazzling waterfalls. It also has a 360 degree bird’s eye view takes in the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls, Mount Solitary and the never ending expanse of the Jamison Valley.
- Three sisters - is a rock formation towering over Jamison Valley. A great site to check as it has links with the Australian-Aboriginal Legend.

Wharf Bar, Manly
A summer afternoon breeze, a cold drink in your hands, and the sun setting over the sea – a typical Sunday afternoon at the Manly Wharf Hotel, or Wharf Bar as it’s known by locals. Since its renovation and reopening in 2003, Wharf Bar has become a staple on the weekend itinerary for residents of the Northern Beaches and a firm favourite of people of all ages.
Wharf Bar offers a perpetual relaxed atmosphere, partly due to its location on Manly beachfront, and partly because of the décor, based according to their website on a 1950s Palm Beach weekender.
Whether you’re a tourist after the experience of a friendly Australian seaside pub, or a local after a laidback venue for catching up with friends over a selection of premium beers, wines or summery cocktails and a wood-fired pizza, Wharf Bar will not disappoint.

Bavarian Bier Cafe, Manly
Branches of the Bavarian Bier Cafe are springing up like mushrooms around Sydney, and I don't think anyone's complaining. Promising to "spread the fun and froth of Bavarian Bier and culture around the globe", the German beer-hall stylings from the nation which gave the world Oktoberfest promise a fun night out in faux-Deutsch surrounds.
The Bavarian Bier Cafe at Manly is situated on the wharf looking out into the bay. When we arrived a lively Saturday night was well underway, both the interior and the exterior brimming with punters awash with the giddy pleasure of beer. The amber liquid is indeed the catch of the day here, with a full beer menu taking up an entire A3 page in tiny print, with a selection of the best beers from Germany and Europe.
The menu is unpretentious and proudly German, offering dishes such as bratwurst sausages, freshly baked Bavarian pretzels and the "Löwenschnitzel". While the prices are on the more expensive side, but the dishes are roughly the size of a laptop computer so is more than enough when split between two. The dessert menu is even more appetising, with things such as apple strudel and vanilla Anglaise or walnut and date pudding with honey ice-cream, or for those pretending to be adults, a nice cheese platter served with a red wine apple compote.
Overall, the Bavarian Bier Cafe at Manly Wharf is a fun night out with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. As they say in Germany, "Prost!"
